Suzuki Marine reflects on a year of events, activities and releases

The Suzuki Marine GB team

As the boating season of 2024 comes towards an end, Suzuki Marine GB reflects on another exciting year of events, activities and releases.

Supported throughout by the dealer and boat builder network, the year has seen many new boats and outboard motors take to the water as Suzuki continues to build and deliver its innovative, reliable range to UK marine market.

Just some of Suzuki’s highlights from 2024 include:

BoatLife 2024 – Suzuki was proud to be the title sponsor for BoatLife 2024, originally announced in summer 2023. At the show, the first UK debut of the new DF250AUNX ‘KURO’ outboard made an impactful statement on the future styling for the manufacturer with its deep, dark, matt black finish.

RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show – Suzuki, Rigiflex and Extreme Trailers once again joined forces to provide a club safety boat package as a prize for the ‘Community Club’ category of the RYA Cub of the Year awards. The package was presented to the category winners, Gresford SC and included a DF9.9B outboard.

Seawork 25th Anniversary – With strong support from Suzuki’s boat builder and dealer network, the 25th edition of Seawork once again showcased why Suzuki is the choice for professionals operating on the water.

Suzuki Fishing Team – The Suzuki fishing team participated in a number of fishing competitions throughout the year, but the two stages of the BoatLife Fishing Championship in Conwy and Cowes were particular highlights for the team. Joined on the water by many other Suzuki-powered boats, the Suzuki fishing team secured strong podium results and some exceptional catches!

The Game Fair – Suzuki Marine joined colleagues from their ATV division at Ragley Hall for The Game Fair, an annual game and countryside show popular with inland anglers and estate mangers.

River Clean as part of Suzuki’s Clean Ocean Project – Hosted in Norfolk by Suzuki-dealer, Marine Power Ltd, the Marine team took to the banks of the River Yare to recover stranded items in the reed beds and banks, collecting over 15 bags of rubbish and large, neglected items.

‘Finishing the Dream’ with Geoff Holt and Wetwheels – Disabled sailor and founder of Wetwheels, Geoff Holt, set out on an epic mission to circumnavigate the UK onboard in his mission ‘Finishing the Dream’. Suzuki was proud to support to Geoff about the first Wetwheels boat (now Wetwheels Solent) which is powered by twin DF350A outboards.

Southampton International Boat Show – The 2024 Southampton Boat Show proved to be special for a number of reasons. On the water, many new boats from Suzuki’s dealer & boat builder network could be found on the pontoons, including the Redbay GF1050 in memory of the late Gary Fyfe. The Suzuki RIB Rides also got over 1000 people out for a blast in Southampton harbour. On land, Suzuki proudly showcased a first look at the new Stealth Line series that features the deep, matt black style seen on the DF250ANUX ‘KURO’ launched earlier in the year. The Jimny Beans coffee car also raised over £1,600 for Wetwheels thanks to denotations by visitors on the Suzuki stand throughout the course of the show.

37th America’s Cup -  The 37th America’s Cup came to a conclusion, with Suzuki having proudly supported INEOS Britania and their fleet of chase boats with x12 DF350A outboards. The Suzuki-powered chase boats made numerous transfers, sail changes and tows throughout the event.

Looking back on 2024, Mark Beeley, Head of Marine & ATV for Suzuki GB said, “This year has proved again to be successful for our team, with the new DF250ANUX ‘KURO’ and preview of the Sealth Line attracting particular attention. 2025 is currently shaping up to be just as interesting, keep an eye out!”
